We founded Local Gourmet starting from a deep love for food, fresh, healthy and genuine food. We only use wholesome ingredients: farm fresh eggs, organic tomatoes, freshwater fish and free-range beef. We strive to express our love for food and life in every dish.

The Local Gourmet restaurant was founded in 1989 as a small cafe on the corner of Main Street and 25th Avenue. Over the last twenty years, our little café has become a successful restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating, space for families, parties and large numbers of customers (yes, we also do catering... ask us information!)

All the ingredients we use at the Local Gourmet restaurant are local ingredients. We stock the pantry in our restaurant kitchen just as we do at home, with daily deliveries of fresh ingredients that we choose directly from the market every morning.

In addition to the dishes on the menu, we also offer special dishes of the day inspired by seasonal ingredients, the climate and our mood. We're always looking for new sources of ideas and inspiration, and when we travel (which we admit we do often) we bring home our favorite flavors and culinary discoveries.
